Global thought leader brings industry experts and senior IT executives together to discuss and share insights into the “business of Agile”
CHICAGO, May 27, 2010 — ThoughtWorks, the global leader in enterprise Agile, today launched Agile Transitions (www.thoughtworks.com/agile-transitions) ) a new online community focused exclusively on the exchange of ideas and best practices associated with executive- and business-level issues related to Agile IT. ThoughtWorks and ThoughtWorks Studios, the Agile ALM products division, will jointly manage and contribute insights to the community site, along with a growing roster of senior technology executives from corporate, education and government sectors.
“ThoughtWorks is at the forefront of the uncharted impact that Agile has at the highest levels of the business,” said Ross Pettit, client principal for ThoughtWorks and lead for Agile Transitions. Adam Monago, VP of client services for ThoughtWorks Studios added, “This online community provides an interactive forum for leaders and executives to exchange ideas and experiences. It also allows ThoughtWorks to share its experience addressing the business-related issues that are critical to building a sustainably Agile organization at the global, enterprise-wide level.”
Agile Transitions is an open forum that allows community members to discuss a range of executive-focused topics, including IT governance, organization, budgeting and financing, risk management, HR issues and enterprise adoption and integration. Within the site Agile executives can converse back and forth, share tips and answer each other's questions. Broader Q&A features let members pose questions to the online community for feedback. In addition, the site includes a resource library that serves as a searchable repository of useful information, including articles, white papers, reference materials and links to webinars.
“One of the core principles of Agile software development is improved collaboration and efficiency, and the integration of Mingle with Google Wave offers a great example of how enterprise IT can use the technology,” said Chad Wathington, vice president, product development at ThoughtWorks Studios. “Having a rich graphical environment to share and update data as it relates to the entire software development lifecycle certainly aligns with our strategy to offer an adaptive, flexible Agile ALM solution that leapfrogs traditional methods for planning, building and deploying great software faster and with more accuracy.”
