Creating project saved views

Saved views give you and your team members a quick way to view the cards you work with regularly in the format you prefer.

Saving project views

For example, iteration managers or project managers can view all cards of type=story with a status=new in a grid view. This may be useful at the start of an iteration or sprint where the team agrees the new stories that form part of the iteration.

• Saved views are global - i.e. they display for all team members, not just the team member who creates them.
• When you click on a card within a saved view, Mingle lets you navigate through all items in that saved view. This may be useful when evaluating bugs or analyzing stories.
• You can't save more than one identical view.
• You can't edit saved views from the Project admin > Saved views section. You can only delete them from here. However, you can update a saved view by selecting Saved views > Save current view as... when viewing a card list.
• If your team will be using a saved view regularly, e.g. looking at all stories in a specific iteration, you can turn this into a tab.

Hint: You can also create a wiki page that shows cards according to different card properties. You can even set up a wiki page that references the current user, so whenever a logged in user visits that wiki page, they can see all cards assigned to them. How to create a new saved view

1. Sign in to Mingle and open the project for which to create saved views (if you're not currently working in the project).
2. Click the All tab.
   
   
   
3. Filter the card list to isolate the cards you want to work with.
   If you have existing similar tabs or saved views set up, you can open one of these as a starting point and then change the filters.
4. Select whether you want to view these cards as a grid or list.
   
   
   
5. If viewing in a List and you want to add or remove columns, click the Add / remove columns link.
   Mingle displays all of the card properties you can select/deselect.
   Columns with a tick next to them are already present.
   
   
   
6. Select the column you want to add or remove.
   Columns with an orange tick are already present - select these to remove them.
   Go to Step 9.
7. If viewing in a Grid, select the Group by and Color by options.
   For example, if you are creating a saved view to allocate stories at the start of an iteration you may group by Iteration and color by Priority.
   
   
8. Add or remove swim lanes as needed by clicking the Add / remove lanes link and selecting an option from the menu.
   This lets you view a card property that is not currently attached to any card. This lets you drag cards to another property value.
   
   
9. If you are happy with the saved view, click the Save current view link.
   Mingle opens up a dialog to let you enter a name for the saved view.
   
   
   
10. Type a name for the saved view.
    
    
11. Click the Save view button.
    Mingle creates the saved view. All team members can now access this view by clicking the Saved views link. You can manage this saved view via Project admin > Saved views.
