The card filter is one of the most important ways to get to the cards you are looking for in Mingle. It has a few moving parts which can be used in ways ranging from easy and simple to extremely powerful as your familiarity with the system grows. The filter behavior is governed largely by the various card types and properties that you have created for your project.
Click here for more information on card types.
Look into the supplied templates for more examples of how you can set these up.
There is always at least one filter by default in the filters panel. This first filter is set by default to filter by card type. This filter cannot be removed. This, not only makes it much easier to understand what cards you are actually working with, but also makes it easy to add cards quickly and unambiguously using the quick add functionality.
Once you've filtered the cards you want to view, you can save these filters for quick reference by clicking the Saved views link (you can also turn saved views into tabs).
If there is no card type selected in the filter, you cannot use the quick add feature to add a card.
With multiple card types selected in the filter, you cannot use the quick add feature to add new cards, because it would be unclear as to what type of card you were adding to the system.
There are three operators available in the new filter in addition to the 'is' filter that allows you to search for cards that have a particular property value. These are the 'is not', 'is greater than' and 'is less than' operators. The 'is greater than' and 'is less than' operators use the order you specify for your values in the property management screen. E.g., If you set up values for the priority property to be in the order of urgent > high > medium > low, and filter as shown below, you would get only urgent, high and medium bugs.
These operators are not valid for card types and user properties, as there is no universal way to determine 'greater than' and 'less than' relationships for these. Note that values that are set to one of these operators will not be set on cards added through quick add, as there is no way to specify which exact value needs to be set.
If you have a date property, you can filter by it using the calendar widget.
