Viewing cards in a list

Mingle's List view is the default card view and as the name suggests, simply lists cards in a project (similar to Excel). 

To view cards in a list, select the cards you want to work with and then click the View as List link. 

How to view cards in a list

1. Sign in to Mingle and open the project for which to view cards in a list (if you're not currently working in the project).
2. Click the All tab.
   Mingle displays all cards in the project in List view by default (as in the screen shot below).
   You can also click any other tab that displays cards.
   
   
   
3. Filter the card list to isolate the cards you want to work with.
   If you have existing similar tabs or saved views set up, you can open one of these as a starting point and then change the filters.
4. If Mingle is currently displaying cards in a Grid, click the View as List link.



Mingle displays all cards on the page in a list format.


5. Click the Add / remove columns link to add more card properties or remove card properties you don't want to see.
   
   
   Mingle updates the List view with the columns (card properties) you want to view.
6. If you want to re-order cards according to a column, click on a column name.
   
   
7. If the List view comprises more than one page, scroll down to the bottom of the page to navigate all cards.
   
   
   Click a number to go directly to that page, or click Next to navigate to the next page.
8. If you want to view all details for a card, or to edit an individual card, click on the card's name or number.
9. If you want to update cards in bulk, select the checkbox next to each individual card or click the Select All or Select None links.
   
   
   Mingle now lets you select bulk update options.

10. From the List view, you can also:
    • create a saved view (and turn this into a tab) if you or your team members will be working regularly with the cards displayed.
    • reset the card views to their state before you started editing
    • view these cards in a grid (e.g. for drag and drop updates)
    • create links to this page (with the currently selected cards).

What can you do on the List view?

Update cards

There are two ways you can update cards within the List view:

• individually, by clicking on a card. This lets you edit all details for a card including properties, description and tags, or
• in bulk, by selecting the cards you want to update and then selecting the actions you want to perform. You can update card property values, delete cards, add or update tags, or apply a transition.

Create saved views and tabs

If you've found a card List view that your team will use regularly, you can save this view by clicking the Saved views link on the right (note that if this is your first saved view, the link is Save current view). You can then turn this into a tab by clicking the Project admin tab > Saved views link.

Add or remove columns

Within the List view, you can hide existing columns, or add columns for property values. Click the Add / remove columns link to update the lanes that display.

Link to this page

Each card view has a link called Link to this page. This is identical to the browser address (URL), but gives you a quick way to create links to the current card view. You can use these links to send to people via email or instant messaging (IM), or to place on a website, blog or Mingle wiki page. In Windows, right-click on this link to bring up options for copying or sending this link.
