Deleting cards

In a Mingle project, you can delete cards that you're certain will no longer be used, that are part of a template, or that you created in error. You can delete cards one at a time while viewing an individual card, or delete multiple cards at once from a List view.

Caution: There's no way to recover a deleted card from within the Mingle project. We strongly recommend not deleting a card unless you created that card in error. Make sure that no member of your team will need the card again in future before deleting.

Mingle assigns each new card a unique number. When you delete a card, Mingle simply removes the card along with its number - it doesn't adjust the numbering sequence. Deleting cards creates gaps within the card numbering sequence. Say for example you have cards numbered 1, 2, 3 and 4, and you delete card 2. The new sequence of cards will be 1, 3, 4 and so on.

Deleting a card also removes all history and comments about the card.

Once you've displayed an individual card, you can click its Delete link to remove it.

Reinstating a deleted card from a backup

Once you delete a card, you can't recover it from within a project. However, if you've previously exported a card list and saved it in an Excel spreadsheet, you can re-import the deleted card(s) to Mingle. Mingle will reinstate the card with its original card number, and the card version will be number 1.

See Importing a card list for details.
