Managing Mingle templates
Overview
Templates provide a way to create projects with a pre-defined structure. This can speed up project creation significantly. For example, suppose you want your newly created projects to have "Story" and "Defect" card types. You can create a new template with those card types. Any projects created based on that template will be created with the "Story" and "Defect" cards types.
How to create a new template
Create new template using existing projects
Only Mingle or project administrator can create new templates.
You can create a new template from existing projects. This allows users to create templates that fit their project structure the best.

Click on the 'New template' link from manage templates page. This will take you to the 'Create a new template' page.

The 'Create a new template' page will list all existing projects that are available to you. For every project there will be a link called 'Create template from this project'. Click on the link that corresponds to the project from which you want to create your template.

If you return to the manage templates page you can verify the template was successfully created from selected project.
Create new template by importing
Only Mingle or project administrator can create new templates.
You can create a new template by importing previously exported Mingle templates.

Click on the 'Import template' link from manage templates page. This will take you to the 'Import template' page. Select the exported Mingle template and give it a name and a identifier.
If you do not provide a name and an identifier, the imported template's name and its identifier will be provided automatically.

Click on the 'Import template' link to start importing the selected template.
All project settings, cards and pages will be kept except team members, who are not present templates.

After importing the template successfully you can find the newly imported template on the 'Manage templates' page.
How to update existing templates
You can modify and update existing templates just like how you would use Mingle projects. Any changes you made will be saved in templates.
You can create any customize templates by updating any of existing templates.
How to delete an existing template
Deleting a project or a template
To delete a project or a template, navigate to the Current projects page or the Available templates page and click on the 'Delete this' link that corresponds to project or template that you wish to delete.

Delete a template from the Available templates page. You can navigate to this page by clicking "Project templates" link on Admin menu.
