Attaching objects and links to wiki pages

Introduction

While editing a Mingle wiki page, you can:
  • attach links to websites, cards and other wiki pages
  • insert graphics (to display within the card or as just an attachment)
  • attach other documents (e.g. Microsoft Word documents)

All editing features available on wiki pages are now available on cards too. So if you want to insert a graphic on a card just follow the steps for the wiki page below after clicking the edit link on a card view.

How to attach links, graphics and documents

Attaching links to websites, cards and other wiki pages

From within a wiki page, you can create links to external websites, cards and other wiki pages. See the below for the markup to apply.

Link to cards

The actual prefix you use in front of card numbers depends on the card keywords you set up. A '#' is used as an example here.

You must type the page reference exactly as it appears in Mingle with the same capitalization.

Inserting graphics

You can insert graphics as a simple attachment in a wiki page, or you can also make the graphic display on the wiki page.

When you attach images or documents, Mingle may change the file name. If the original file name contains spaces, e.g. file name.jpg, Mingle replaces the spaces with underscores, e.g. file_name.jpg. Before trying to display a graphic within a wiki page, double-check the exact file name at the bottom of the wiki page after saving.

Removing graphics

If you have simply attached a graphic to a wiki page (without making it display in the wiki page), removing a graphic is the same as removing any other attachment - simply click the X next to the attachment at the bottom of the wiki page.

If you have also made the graphic display on the wiki page, you should also click the Edit link and remove the wiki markup relating to this graphic.

Attaching other documents

You can attach any type of document to a card or wiki page in Mingle.
  1. To attach a document, click the Edit link and scroll down to the bottom of the page.
  2. Click the Browse button and locate the document you want to attach.
  3. Click the Save link.

Removing attachments

Remove an attachment by clicking the X next to the attachment name at the bottom of the wiki page.
