Customizing projects

Introduction

Before your team can start using Mingle, you must create a new project and configure its parameters.

We've designed Mingle to be extremely flexible so you can adapt the application to your project's structure, methodologies and team preferences. On one hand, this means that Mingle is extremely powerful. On the other hand, it means you need to spend some time thinking about your project's structure and then configure Mingle accordingly.

We've included some project templates to help your team get started quickly. Choose the closest match to your team's environment and edit the parameters to fit your team.

Create user profiles

To add new users, click the Users link from the instance Admin menu on mingle home page (the first page you see after logging on - click the Mingle logo to display this page).

Create Mingle projects

To create a new project, click the New project link from the Projects page.

Create or update project properties

There are a number of ways in which you can customize Mingle to suit your particular project needs

Setup the project environment and navigation

You can create custom tabs based on favorites to display specific project information, and to facilitate your project workflow.

Setup the project overview (dashboard reports)

The Overview tab is a special wiki page that is used to present project information in a dashboard format, as well as linking into other wiki pages.

Setup the source repository (if using Mingle with a source repository)

To connect your project to your source repository, select the Project admin tab, Project repository settings link. Mingle will display the Configure project repository page
