New Murmurs features increase collaboration and traceability within a project by creating linkages between Cards and Murmurs, improved search capabilities and simplified navigation.

  • Extend Card-specific comments to project-level murmurs and trace murmurs back to originating Card comments.
Murmurs is a new feature introduced in a previous version of Mingle—a way of capturing unstructured project information, that is already being shared between team members via external tools, inside Mingle. It is a way for team members to collaborate and share project data that doesn't necessarily conveniently or easily fit into the current card and page concepts in Mingle but is relevant project information. In Mingle 3.1, when commenting on Cards users can now also make their comments be project murmurs, enabling team members to see related comments from Cards within the Murmurs environment for example to tie discussions to requirements. From the Murmurs tab view, project members can see from which Cards a murmur originated. This linking provides increased visibility and traceability between the Murmurs collaboration feature and Cards.
  • Search for murmurs via global search (project-level) and within the Murmurs tab.
To help find pieces of information most relevant to them contained in Murmurs, users can now search murmurs from a project’s murmur search box (searches only murmurs within a project). Search globally using the Global Search (searches all content across a single project) which now also includes murmurs (murmur contents, authors, etc. )

Other improvements, based on our most popular community requests, include usability features aimed at helping users get to the information they want faster.

  • Improved search filtering and change notifications. Now users can find any change to a card’s property via the History tab and subscribe to change notifications for these changes in one fell swoop.
  • Ability to create “My Favorites” which are personal favorites similar to Team Favorites. Users have the ability add current views to a new “My Favorites” area to get to the information they need faster (example work tasks owned by me, etc).
  • Hide the Quick Add Bar - to help users see only information that they’re interested in, or is pertinent to them, users now have the ability to hide/expand the “Quick Add” bar.
  • Maximize grid views, trees views, list views and hierarchy views – individual and Team Favorites can be maximized, presenting only information that users and the team deem relevant. These can be saved to Favorites, so you or your team can quickly return to a preferred view.
  • Card number jump to Card details – a small but popular request allows users to jump quickly to card details from card numbers on a Card popup.
  • Navigate via the value of a card property to another card – another minor but significant improvement, small “click to go to this card” icons on cards enables users to easily move from the details of any Card to the details of an associated Card.

Improved management features including reporting, project membership management and updates to APIs and supported third-party databases.

  • Enhanced and Improved Card-specific reporting using THIS CARD – advanced users of THIS CARD reporting can now access values of a card’s properties in MQL and macros using THIS CARD, example, limit reports to information on THIS CARD and cards with relationships or associated with THIS CARD.
  • Request membership to project – allows project and Mingle administrators to set a project as visible to non-project members, enabling logged in users to request membership to projects.
  • To help developers build integrations with Mingle more easily, we’ve updated the execute_mql API to allow formatting of the results in JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) and JSONP, a lightweight more flexible data-interchange format.
  • Mingle will officially support Postgres v8.4.
